Victoria Broackes

Senior Associate, London

Victoria Broackes works across creative legacy planning and institutional development at AEA. She advises artists, estates, museums, cultural organisations and creative businesses on long-term strategies that strengthen artists’ reputations and public engagement. Her work spans strategic planning, partnerships, exhibition and experience development.

Before joining AEA, Victoria was Director of the London Design Biennale, where she led the organisation's strategy, partnerships, and programme across three editions, working with governments, universities, cultural institutions and industry partners from more than 80 countries. She established new initiatives connecting design with research, sustainability and innovation, including collaborations with Chatham House and King's College London. Previously, during nearly three decades at the Victoria and Albert Museum, she was Senior Curator and Head of the London Design Festival, leading internationally recognised exhibitions and programmes that expanded audiences and demonstrated how design and the arts can shape public dialogue.

Victoria is interested in how cultural organisations, artists and collections can build lasting public value through thoughtful strategy, collaboration and creative leadership. She is particularly interested in the stewardship of artistic legacies, the role of design in addressing societal challenges and creating meaningful connections between culture, audiences and public life.

Victoria holds an MA in History of Design from the Royal College of Art and a BA (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of York. She is a Trustee of Handel Hendrix House, a member of the Court of Assistants of the Goldsmiths' Company. She speaks English and conversational French.
