AEA Welcomes 2024 Summer Analysts
June 13, 2024
We're so pleased to welcome Beatrice Gruskin and Mariana Gomez Mendoza as Summer Analysts for 2024. Mariana re-joins us for a second year, having worked with us in summer 2023. We're looking forward to collaborating with Beatrice and Mariana over the coming months!
Mariana Gomez Mendoza
Mariana was a summer analyst with AEA Consulting last summer, where she worked on projects such as the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center in Portland and Balboa Park in San Diego, among others. Since then, she has completed her MA in Arts Administration from Columbia University, where she honed her expertise in financial planning, cultural policy, and data analysis within the arts and culture sector. Her thesis, a meticulous comparative study on global cultural policies in organic and government-induced cultural districts, underscores her dedication to enhancing cultural landscapes worldwide.
During her master's program, she collaborated with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera for a subscriber analysis and worked with Project Music on a donor base analysis, showcasing a practical application of data analytics and strategic planning within the arts sector.
Prior to her Masters program, Mariana founded Anecdota, a PR agency, Cultural, Guide and App in Guadalajara, Mexico. Prior to that, she held assistant producer roles at AlteaCorp, contributing to notable projects like Calaverandia and Festival GDLUZ. Mariana's academic journey began with a Bachelor's in Arts and Culture Management from ITESO, Guadalajara, Mexico, refining skills in fundraising, cultural indicators, and community development. She also engaged in a study abroad program at Florence University of the Arts.
Beatrice Gruskin
Beatrice recently completed her MA in Arts Administration & Cultural Policy at Goldsmiths, University of London. While in London, she interned with Spitalfields Music during their annual classical and contemporary music festival. Growing up as a classically trained violist, Beatrice is passionate about the classical music industry’s ever-evolving journey to include new audiences and create unconventional experiences – a topic she explored in her Master’s dissertation on the industry’s changing narrative.
Prior to her graduate studies, Beatrice earned a B.A. in Anthropology and French at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she also minored in Music. While there, Beatrice served as Co-Curator of TEDxJHU, organizing TED-style events that featured student and community speakers. She also interned and served as Production Assistant at Shriver Hall Concert Series, Baltimore’s leading presenter of chamber music and solo recitals.
As Summer Analyst, Beatrice looks forward to working at the intersection of culture, creativity, and community while developing new research and analytical skills.
