As an outcome of its work with AEA, The Boston Symphony Orchestra is launching a significant new community engagement initiative, BSO in Residence. Launched last month and featured in The Boston Globe, BSO in Residence will embed the Orchestra in local neighborhoods through music-making and partnership-building. The first neighborhood of focus is Jamaica Plain, where the program was launched with a free concert in Franklin Park on October 1. Last year, AEA worked with the BSO to develop a strategic plan for the Orchestra's Education and Community Engagement Department.
