Global Cultural Districts Network gathers 85 international delegates for bi-annual meeting in Brooklyn

In May 2016, the Global Cultural Districts Network, an initiative of AEA Consulting, gathered over 85 international delegates in Brooklyn for its third bi-annual convening, hosted by the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Brooklyn Cultural District. Executive leaders of cultural districts and cultural institutions from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, Argentina, Singapore, Hong Kong and China spent two and half days discussing topics of common interest, including trends in the design of cultural spaces, metrics of success in cultural districts, leadership development, the management of night time economies, policy development and implementation, festival strategies, and more. In addition to panel presentations, the meeting featured workshops and case studies about naturally occurring cultural districts and emerging cultural districts in Argentina, Spain, and Hong Kong.
