Rebuild by Design Proposals Presented to the Public
April 4, 2014
The culmination of eight months of work for HUD's Rebuild by Design process saw the ten teams present their resiliency work to the public in both New Jersey and New York. The BIG U, the proposal to create a more resilient Lower Manhattan created by a team including AEA, was prominently featured in press coverage of the events. Coverage included articles on New York Magazine, Crain's New York Business, ArchDaily, Mother Nature Network, Architectural Record, and more. Henk Ovink, senior advisor to HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan and the project manager for Rebuild by Design, was also the subject of a profile in The New York Times Magazine; Henk provided an overview of all ten projects for the Times here.
A full overview of the final BIG U proposal can be found on the Rebuild by Design website here.
