City of Prague Announces Architectural Competition for the New Vltava Philharmonic Hall
August 23, 2021
The Prague Institute of Planning and Development has announced an architectural competition for the Vltava Philharmonic Hall to be the new home of the Vltava Philharmonic. The new hall will be part of a larger contemporary music center and is intended to be a world-class structure to raise Prague’s reputation as a cultural metropolis and a symbol of the Czech music tradition. All interested parties are encouraged to compete and may submit applications starting today.
Director Adrian Ellis has been selected as a jury member alongside an international panel of experts in the architectural and design, urban planning, engineering, and creative and cultural industries to review proposals.
This past year, AEA Consulting advised on the design brief for the architectural competition and had the honor to work alongside Henning Larsen Architects for the Institute of Planning and Development on a feasibility study for the new concert hall.
